An 11-year-old boy died after reportedly experiencing convulsions and losing consciousness upon receiving a second dose of anesthesia during a circumcision procedure at a clinic in Mulanay, Quezon.
The victim was identified as L.A. Reaño, the only child of Marlon and Jenny Reaño.
According to the parents, the incident occurred last April at a local clinic in Mulanay, and they were even able to take a video of the procedure. However, just moments after the procedure began, the boy began to shake uncontrollably after being injected with a second dose of anesthesia. He eventually stopped breathing.
The grieving parents are now seeking justice, demanding that the doctor responsible be held accountable and stripped of their medical license.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is set to summon the doctor for questioning.
The Reaño couple also turned to the NBI after learning about a similar case involving a 10-year-old boy who died during a circumcision procedure in Tondo.
