Dako ang posibilidad nga magpabilin sa iya pwesto si Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero sa 20th Congress.
Suno kay Senator Joel Villanueva, 13 sa 24 ka mga senador ang nagapabor na subong nga si Escudero gihapon ang magpamuno sa upper chamber.
Pahayag pa ni Villanueva, personal niya nga na-istorya ang mga kaupdanan niya agud mahibal-an kun sin-o ang ila pilion.
“If we were to hold the elections today, we already know — and I think your information is as good as mine — that Senate President Chiz Escudero will be retained as our Senate president,” suno kay Villanueva.
Ginpahayag man sini nga siya mismo naga-suporta kay Escudero bangud sa iya mga natapos sa trabaho kag bangud man sa iya relasyon sa iban nga lawmakers.
“For me, the decision was easy because we are result-oriented. At the end of the day, you look at the accomplishments of the Senate during his tenure, and there are many measures passed, and at the same time, the respect he gives to our senators,” dugang sini.
Pahayag pa niya: “I am confident because I have talked to at least a majority of the senators, so I can say that. But of course, every day is another day, I cannot say if their votes would change. But as far as I am concerned, I have already talked to 13 of them.”
Nag-ako man si Senator Erwin Tulfo nga siya kag ang iya utod nga si Senator Raffy ang nalakip sa 13 nga magaboto para sa senate leader.
Una na nga nagguwa ang pangalan ni former Senate president Vicente “Tito” Sotto III kag presidential sister Senator Imee Marcos nga lakip man sa pilian sa Senate presidency.
Nagpahayag naman si Sotto nga handa siya nga kuhaon ang posisyon nga Senate minority leader kun mapaslawan siya sa pagbalik sa pagka-senate president.#
