Nahilway na ang walo ka Filipino seafarers nga gin-detain sa Malaysia sa sulod sang isa ka semana bangud sa ginaalegar nga paglapas sa layi sa immigration.
Suno sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), gin-release sila subong nga adlaw, Abril 18, kasunod sang desisyon sang Prosecutor’s Office sa Johor.
“Following yesterday’s welfare visit and today’s decision of the Prosecutor’s Office in Johor, the eight Filipino crew members of vessel MT Krishna 1 detained in Kota Tinggi have been released today, 18 April 2025,” sandig sa ahensya.

Ini nga walo ka Pinoy ang sakay sang MT Krishna 1 kaupod ang 12 ka Indian crew members sang gin-detain sila sang Royal Malaysian Police sa Kota Tinggi Police District Headquarters sa Johor, Malaysia sang nagligad nga Abril 11. Ang gin-cite nga violation amo ang pagsulod sa Malaysia nga wala sang passports kag wala sang valid documents.
“Upon learning of the arrest, MWO-OWWA Malaysia immediately coordinated with Kota Tinggi police authorities to ensure the welfare and well-being of the seafarers, and communicated with the concerned Licensed Manning Agency (LMA) and principal for their cooperation during the police investigation,” kabahin pa sang press release sang DMW. “The LMA, meanwhile, of the 8 Filipino seafarers assured the continued payment of salaries and benefits to the seafarers and their families.”
Ginpasalig man nga may ihatag nga nagakaigo nga assistance paagi sa AKSYON Fund. Ini nga programa amo ang kumprehensibo nga support system sa overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) nga ginahatag sang ahensya lakip ang financial aid, legal assistance, medical assistance, kag iban pa.
