A man was arrested in Antipolo City after allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman with a disability (PWD) in Camarines Norte.
According to authorities, the assault occurred in a small hut in Basud in November 2023.
The Basud Police reported that the victim is the niece of the suspect’s brother-in-law.
The suspect had been evading capture for nearly four months before he was finally apprehended.
Despite acknowledging that he knows the victim, the suspect has denied the allegations against him.
Authorities are preparing to file a case of qualified rape against the suspect, which carries severe penalties under Philippine law.
