ILOILO – Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. has withdrawn the proposed P 20-million intelligence fund from Iloilo province’s 2025 budget.

This adjustment reallocates the funds to the donations budget, as confirmed by 4th District Board Member Domingo Oso Jr., Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Oso explained that while the intelligence fund typically supports peace and order initiatives with flexible documentation requirements, the donations budget demands specific documents from beneficiaries.

On December 17, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved the 2025 budget, allocating P 4,849,438,886 for the General Fund and P1,127,641,541 for the Local Economic Enterprise.

Governor Defensor described the 2025 budget as “developmental,” focusing on infrastructure and other projects to enhance the province.

He emphasized the provincial government’s commitment to funding essential projects such as road connectivity, electricity, internet access, and water systems.
