𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬, 𝗕𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗡 – Three operatives of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) were killed in an ambush in Barangay Baimbing, Lamitan City, on Monday evening, December 23, 2024.
The victims, believed to be part of an ISAFP unit based in Zamboanga City, were traveling in a van when armed assailants lying in wait opened fire with assault rifles.
Initial reports from the Lamitan City Police Station and the Basilan Provincial Police Office suggest that the agents were on an intelligence-gathering mission in the area when the deadly attack occurred, leading to their immediate deaths.
Authorities are investigating the ambush, with police theorizing that the assailants may have been tipped off about the agents’ operation.ambush.
