An Ilonggo engineer has brought pride to the Philippines after completing his master’s degree at the University of Sydney in Australia.
Engr. Ray Adrian Macalalag from Iloilo City Proper finished his elementary education at the University of San Agustin, his secondary education at the University of the Philippines, and his college degree at the University of San Agustin.
Currently, Macalalag works as a Senior Economic Development Specialist at the Policy Formulation and Planning Division of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office VI in Iloilo City. He is also the focal person for transport and infrastructure sector policy and planning concerns.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Macalalag shared that he could not describe the happiness he felt after being given the opportunity to earn a Master of Transport degree at the University of Sydney.
Macalalag is also the sole representative of the Philippines for the prestigious Australia Awards Scholarship.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his family, colleagues, and friends who believed in his capabilities.
Upon returning to the Philippines, Macalalag’s achievement serves as a great inspiration to those who aspire to achieve greatness through determination and hard work.
