“As part of our commitment to upholding the highest standards of public service and ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, the Iloilo City Government has established stringent measures to maintain a drug-free workplace. Pursuant to Memorandum Order No. 282, we have created the Iloilo City Government (ICG) Drug-Free Workplace Committee to oversee and enforce the guidelines on random drug testing, as authorized under Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The conduct of random drug testing among job order and regular employees, is a legal and proactive initiative to safeguard the integrity of our workforce and ensure a safe, healthy, and productive working environment. This program aims to address and mitigate the harmful effects of dangerous drugs while promoting a culture of accountability, discipline, and responsibility within the Iloilo City Government.
Let me emphasize that this initiative is not merely a compliance mechanism but a vital step in fostering a responsible and drug-free workplace that upholds the welfare of our employees and the public we serve.
I urge all Iloilo City Government personnel to fully cooperate and support this initiative, recognizing that it is for the greater good of our community and public service.
To set a strong example of leadership and commitment to a drug-free Iloilo City, I will first undergo a drug testing.
Thank you.”
