The town of Estancia, Iloilo, is in mourning following the passing of former Mayor Rene Cordero, who peacefully passed away on the evening of January 7, 2025.
The Cordero family is surrounded by an outpouring of condolences from the local community, as well as from parishioners who remember the late mayor’s significant contributions to the Municipality of Estancia and its parish.
In a statement, the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Parish Estancia expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family, acknowledging the late mayor’s dedicated service both to his constituents and to the parish community.
“We share in the grief of the Cordero Family and offer our condolences during this difficult time,” the Parish shared. “Thank you, Mayor Rene, for your loving and committed service to the people of Estancia.”
As the community reflects on his life and legacy, prayers are being offered for the eternal rest of Mayor Cordero. The Parish Community has called on residents to join in prayer: “Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.”
The passing of Mayor Cordero marks the end of a remarkable chapter in the history of Estancia, and his memory will forever be cherished by the people he served so faithfully.
