Dr. Willie Ong has announced his withdrawal from the 2025 senatorial elections, citing the need to focus on his health.
In a Facebook post, Ong expressed his gratitude to his supporters and those who prayed for him throughout his political journey.
“I am officially withdrawing my candidacy for the 2025 elections so I can focus more on taking care of my health,” he wrote.
Despite stepping away from politics, Ong vowed to continue his advocacy for public health and good governance.
“I sincerely thank all the people who supported me and prayed for me. I will continue to support good governance and the candidates who espouse the same ideals as mine. Our advocacy to help poor Filipinos continues even in my private capacity. Thank you for your understanding. God bless you all,” he added.
