Actor Sam Milby confirmed on Tuesday that he and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray have officially parted ways, nearly a year after rumors about their breakup began circulating.

Milby and Gray got engaged in 2023, but fans noticed last year that the beauty queen had deleted posts about their engagement from her Instagram account, sparking speculation.

When asked directly if they were still together, Milby gave a straightforward response: “No.”

“We’ve always been private about our relationship,” he said. “We shared certain things, like our engagement, but when it comes to details about our personal lives, we’ve kept things to ourselves.”

Despite their breakup, the former couple was recently spotted at TJ Monterde’s concert, where Gray was seen in tears during one of the songs. Addressing the moment, Milby said it was his first time hearing some of Monterde’s emotional ballads.

“If you want to ask her what she was feeling, I can’t speak for her,” he said. “But I know we’re okay. Even after the concert, I went backstage. We’re okay.”

Moving Forward

Milby, who sat a few seats away from Gray during the concert, said he is focusing on work and personal growth as he moves on from the breakup.

He also addressed speculations that singer Moira Dela Torre was a third party in their split.

“There was never a third party between me and Cat. That needs to be cleared up. There is absolutely no truth to it,” Milby firmly stated.

He warned the public about believing unverified online rumors: “Please be careful about what you see online. If there’s no evidence, don’t believe it. In this case, there is absolutely no truth to those claims.”

On His Friendship with Moira Dela Torre

Milby acknowledged that he and Dela Torre were once “very close,” particularly at the start of the singer’s career. However, their relationship has since changed.

When asked if they are still friends, Milby said: “We are not friends anymore.”

He declined to elaborate further, only emphasizing that they are no longer close.

“It’s a sensitive issue,” he said, noting that he was among several artists from Cornerstone Entertainment who recently unfollowed Dela Torre on Instagram.
