ILOILO CITY – The entire Philippines will observe Fire Prevention Month this March, with the theme “Sa Pamayanang Nagdadamayan, Sunog ay Maiiwasan” (In a Community that Helps One Another, Fires Can Be Prevented).
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Iloilo City Fire Marshal Fire Senior Superintendent Melanie Habawel emphasized that the campaign aims to strengthen public awareness about fire prevention and safety.
According to Fire Senior Superintendent Bartolome Biliran, Fire Marshal of Iloilo Province, March was designated as Fire Prevention Month due to the high number of fire incidents recorded during this period.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will spearhead various campaigns and programs throughout the month to encourage preparedness and minimize fire-related accidents.
The official observance of Fire Prevention Month 2025 will run from Saturday, March 1, 2025, to Monday, March 31, 2025, featuring different activities led by the BFP to educate the public on fire safety and prevention.
