Two brothers and another individual were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by Iloilo City Police Station 4 at Zone 6, Barangay Boulevard, Molo, Iloilo City.
The arrested siblings were identified as Marlon Lauron, 35, and Mark Anthony Lauron, 34, both residents of the said barangay. Also apprehended was their companion, Jovet Balsomo, 18, a tricycle driver from Barangay Monica, City Proper, Iloilo City.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Police Lieutenant Lloyd Pagulayan, Deputy Station Commander of Iloilo City Police Station 4, said that the suspects were allegedly sourcing illegal drugs from Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Pagulayan added that residents had previously complained about the Lauron brothers’ suspected involvement in drug dealing activities.
During the operation, authorities managed to purchase one sachet of suspected shabu from Marlon Lauron using PHP 1,500 marked money. Police also recovered an estimated 5 grams of suspected shabu valued at around PHP 34,000.
The suspects are now under police custody and are facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
