The Philippine National Police (PNP) has officially cut ties with fitness influencer Rendon Labador amid confusion surrounding his role in the organization’s weight loss program.

Labador was initially associated with the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG) to help lead a 93-day fitness drive. But a PNP memorandum dated June 21 clarified that he was never formally authorized to lead the initiative.

PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said the issue stemmed from a misunderstanding.

“General Marvin Saro told me there was a miscommunication. Maybe Rendon got too excited when the idea was discussed,” Fajardo explained.

In an earlier interview, Labador claimed he was personally invited by Saro to head the project and that he accepted the task without asking for payment.

The PNP’s weight loss program follows a directive from PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III, stating that officers who fail two physical fitness tests will undergo retraining and be disqualified from promotion.
