A 9-year-old girl died while a 15-year-old motorcycle rider was injured after their motorcycle collided with a military vehicle in Barangay Carusikis, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
Initial investigation revealed that the rider lost control while navigating a curved portion of the road and veered into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the military vehicle.
Due to the strong impact, both minors were thrown off the motorcycle.
The young girl, who was riding pillion, was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The teenage rider is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.
Authorities confirmed that neither of the two was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
