Ginkumpirma ni Senate President Pro Tempore kag Blue Ribbon Committee chair Ping Lacson nga ginbasura sang Senado ang request nga Christmas furlough para sa contractor nga si Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II kag anay mga engineer sang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) nga sanday Henry Alcantara, Brice Hernandez, kag Jaypee Mendoza.
Suno kay Lacson, siya ang nag-rekomendar nga i-deny ang request nga temporaryo nga makabiya sa Senate detention ang apat ka nasambit nga mga indibidwal.
Gin-aprubahan naman ni Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III ang rekomendasyon ni Lacson bangud sa security reasons, ilabi na bangud posible nga magguwa na ang warrants of arrest batok sa ila.
“I recommended to the Senate President that their request for Christmas furlough be denied mainly for security reasons, owing to the repeated media statements from Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. that arrest warrants against them will be issued before Christmas,” suno kay Lacson.
“So the risk of escape becomes greater – not to mention that it makes no sense to grant such requests for Christmas leave if indeed warrants are coming out by then,” dugang niya.
Apisar yara sila sa detention sang upper chamber, pasugtan man ang apat nga makapamati sang misa sa Senado, kag pahanugutan man ang ila pamilya nga makabisita sa sulod sang premises sang chamber sa holidays.
Matandaan nga sang Septyembre 18 pa sang gin-contempt si Curlee Discaya sang Senate Blue Ribbon Committee bangud sa iya pagbinutig kaangot sa pag-absent sang iya asawa nga si Sarah sa hearing. Sa pihak nga bahin, nauna na nga nadagdagan sang arrest warrant si Sarah subong nga Disyembre kag yara na sa paghinakop sang awtoridad.
Septyembre 8 naman sang na-cite in contempt si Hernandez, kag nagsunod man sanday Alcantara kag Mendoza sang Septyembre 18.#
