AAMBIS-OWA Party-list Representative Atty. Lex Colada has become one of the key endorsers of the third impeachment complaint filed against Vice President Sara Duterte at the House of Representatives.

Colada, who is married to Guimbal, Iloilo Mayor Jennifer Garin-Colada, joins a group of lawmakers in supporting the filing of this new complaint, which aims to hold the Vice President accountable for alleged misconduct.

Joining Colada in endorsing the complaint is Camarines Sur 3rd District Representative Gabriel Bordado Jr.

The complaint, now formally submitted to the House Secretary General, adds to the growing list of challenges faced by Duterte, who is currently under scrutiny in connection with multiple allegations.

The latest impeachment complaint involves 12 complainants, including lawyers, priests, and non-government organization (NGO) workers from Mindanao and other regions.

The complainants accuse Vice President Duterte of graft and corruption and betrayal of public trust, citing her alleged misuse of confidential funds from both the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd).

Among the groups supporting the complaint is the National Union of Peoples’ Lawyers (NUPL-Mindanao), which has brought significant attention to the case.

The allegations pertain to suspected corruption and the improper use of funds, which have sparked nationwide debate.

The complainants and endorsers have pledged to provide further statements once the filing procedures are concluded.

Prior to this third impeachment filing, two other impeachment complaints had already been lodged against Duterte, both of which were filed by civil society and militant organizations.

The situation remains fluid, and the House of Representatives is expected to proceed with the review and processing of the newly filed impeachment complaint in the coming weeks.
