Filipino tennis star Alex Eala has advanced to the second round of the Ilkley Open after defeating Filipino Australian Lizette Cabrera with a score of 7(7)-6, 6-3.
The match lasted one hour and 46 minutes at the tournament held in Northern England.
This marks Eala’s first competition since her early exit at the Birmingham Classic.
Currently ranked 77th, Eala will next face Valentina Ryser of Switzerland, who holds the 230th spot in the world rankings. Cabrera is ranked 206th.
