Authorities are continuing rescue efforts following the crash of a helicopter into the Hudson River in New York City.
According to reports, many bystanders were shocked when the helicopter suddenly plunged into the river.
Within minutes, the aircraft quickly sank into the water.
Initial investigations reveal that the helicopter went down near Pier 25, between West Street and Canal Street, shortly after 3:00 p.m. local time.
Rescuers were able to retrieve two individuals from the scene, but officials have yet to confirm the total number of passengers on board.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
