Tragedy struck a family in Barangay Poblacion, Talitay, Maguindanao del Norte after an eight-year-old boy died in a fire that engulfed more than 10 houses.
According to authorities, the fire spread rapidly, leaving residents no time to save any belongings.
The boy was unable to escape and was trapped inside their home while he was asleep.
It was later learned that the victim’s mother was suffering from an illness at the time, preventing her from rescuing her child.
The Bureau of Fire Protection is continuing its investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
