Nagtapos ang tatlo ka adlaw nga plenary assembly sang Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) nga may nahimo nga pila ka resolutions lakip ang pagpaguwa sang obligatory prayer for peace.
Ini nga assembly ang gintambungan sang 100 bishops halin sa nagkalain-lain nga dioceses kag archdioceses sa pungsod.
Suno kay CBCP president Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, ipaguwa ang Oratio Imperata for peace sa context sang nagasaka nga geo-political tensions particular sa West Philippine Sea.
Pahayag ni David nga amo man ang obispo sang Diocese of Caloocan, i-release ang prayer sa July 25, kadungan sang Feast of St. James, kag iga-recite tubtub sa Jan. 1, 2025 nga amo man ang World Day of Peace.
Ini nga ‘oratio imperata’ ukon ang obligatory prayer ang maga-focus lamang sa kalinong.
Suno kay David, indi nila gusto nga dabukan ang tension bangud wala sang tawo nga gusto maka-eksperyensya sang gyera.
“We are not political leaders, we are spiritual and moral leaders. And we know that our compatriots, people in the country are getting tense,” pahayag sang obispo. “We do not want to add fuel, further fuel to the tension. Nobody wants a war. Our parents were people who experienced, they were part of a generation that were traumatized by the Second World War. And so, we really have not just to work for peace, but to pray for peace (that is) our disposition as bishops.”
