𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 – The driver of an SUV, who collided with a post in front of Plaza Libertad along JM Basa Street, Iloilo City Proper, is believed to still have a hangover.
The victim, whose name has been withheld, is a 27-year-old resident of Negros Occidental.
In an interview with Police Chief Master Sergeant Edward Larrida, an investigator from the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Iloilo City Police Office, he stated that the victim still smelled of alcohol when rescued.
However, Larrida clarified that only the Land Transportation Office (LTO) possesses the alcohol breath analyzer, which is the proper tool to determine whether an individual is intoxicated or has consumed alcohol.
According to Larrida, based on their investigation, the victim was driving fast while heading towards General Hughes, Iloilo City Proper.
When the vehicle reached JM Basa Street, the victim claimed that a motorcycle overtook him, which caused the accident.
The victim was immediately taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries to his hand and head.
