Iloilo City, March 28, 2025 — The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) kicked off its ‘Oplan Baklas’ campaign today in Iloilo City, spearheaded by COMELEC Region 6 Director Atty. Dennis Ausan. The initiative aims to remove illegal campaign materials as the local campaign period for the May 2025 National and Local Elections begins.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Atty. Ausan emphasized the importance of candidates adhering to the rules and guidelines for campaign activities. He reminded candidates to be aware of what is allowed and what is prohibited during the campaign period.

Ausan highlighted the need to respect private properties when placing campaign materials, stressing that campaign posters should not exceed the prescribed size of 2×3 feet. He also noted that it is prohibited to put up posters in public places without proper authorization.

Furthermore, Atty. Ausan pointed out that campaign materials must include information regarding who funded the posting, ensuring transparency and accountability during the election campaign.

This initiative is part of COMELEC’s ongoing efforts to maintain fair and orderly campaign practices leading up to the elections.
