𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 – A devotee of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria has shared the miraculous experience of how his faith led to his recovery from a serious illness.

George Susvilla, Jr., a choreographer originally from Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro, Iloilo City, but now residing in San Enrique, Iloilo, spoke to Bombo Radyo about the extraordinary event that changed his life.

Susvilla explained that his devotion to Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria began when he was in Grade 1, as his father would take him to the iconic Candelaria shrine in Jaro before their visits to the “bulang” (cockfighting). This connection to the Virgin remained a constant in his life.

In June 2018, Susvilla traveled to the United States with the Panayanon Tribe from Iloilo City National High School. However, after returning to the Philippines, tragedy struck when his brother passed away, causing Susvilla to fall into a deep depression.

Soon after, he suffered a mild stroke. When he underwent a CT scan, doctors discovered that there was bleeding inside his brain, and treatment would cost over P400,000. Faced with this overwhelming situation, Susvilla turned to prayer, seeking comfort at the grotto of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria at the Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral. There, he entrusted his pain, fears, and problems to the Virgin.

Within just five months, the pain in his head disappeared, and his overall health improved significantly. He was also able to return to teaching at the Dinagyang Festival, a key part of his life.

Susvilla now hopes his experience will inspire others to believe in the power of faith and the possibility of healing. His story is a testament to how devotion can bring about miraculous recovery.
