𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 – The highly anticipated Dinagyang Festival 2025 is set to commence with its grand opening salvo featuring two major events: the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan and the Dinagyang Ati Tribe Competition, on January 9 and 10, respectively. Both events will take place at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand, with the festivities beginning at 2:00 p.m.
𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗱𝘆𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝘄𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟵
The opening day will feature the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, which will showcase nine cultural contingents from various towns across Iloilo. These performances will highlight the diverse heritage, traditions, and vibrant culture of the region.
𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘁𝗶 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭𝟬
On January 10, the festival will continue with the much-awaited Dinagyang Ati Tribe Competition, where eight Ati tribes will compete for the prestigious title. This event promises a thrilling display of cultural dances and the passionate spirit of the Ilonggo people. The competition will offer a sneak peek into the grandeur of the grand tribal showdown scheduled later in the festival.
𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
Adding elegance to the festivities, ten Ilongga candidates vying for the Miss Iloilo 2025 crown will also be gracing the event, contributing to the glamour and excitement surrounding the festival’s launch.
𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀
To ensure the smooth flow of activities, authorities have announced several traffic rerouting and road closures during the opening salvo.
𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙍𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙚: The parade will begin at the Iloilo Dinagyang Grandstand (Muelle Loney), turning left onto Peralta Street. It will continue along JM Basa Street, Fermin Caram Street, and conclude at Casa Plaza near the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙 𝘾𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨: Various streets in the City Proper and La Paz area will be closed for the events. Affected streets include Muelle Loney, General Luna, Montinola, Solis, Yulo, and many others around the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand.
𝙋𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝙐𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙑𝙚𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙨 (𝙋𝙐𝙑𝙨) 𝘼𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙: Public utility vehicles, including jeepneys serving key routes such as Ungka, Tagbak, La Paz, and Bo. Obrero, will follow designated alternate routes, with some PUVs passing through Rizal Street, La Paz, and Libertad. Return trips will also follow rerouted paths. Motorists and commuters are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨: To avoid further congestion, trucks and trailers are prohibited from entering or leaving the City Proper during the opening salvo.
