Nagpasalig ang Department of Finance (DOF) kag Bureau of Customs (BOC) nga epektibo nga ipatuman ang bag-o nga layi nga naga-target nga papason ang smuggling kag hoarding sang agricultural products.
Kabahin man ini sang pagpasiguro sang stable food supply para sa mga Pilipino.
Suno kay Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, ang bag-o lang napirmahan nga Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act ang nagapasangkad pa sa depinisyon sa economic sabotage bangud mas madamo nga agricultural products ang malakip. Ini nga layi naga-cover na subong pati sang livestock, aquatic products, kag tobacco.
“The new law gives more teeth to the government to relentlessly run after smugglers whose illegal activities undermine our farmers, fisherfolk, and consumers,” suno sa tiglikom.
“Through a stronger and stricter crack down on these offenders, we protect our people’s access to affordable goods and boost our revenue collections, which will allow the government to provide more essential public services to Filipinos,” dugang sini sa isa ka statement.
Suno naman kay BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio, ipatuman nila ang full enforcement sang layi para nga indi magpangkalaak ang agricultural prices kag agud nga maprotektahan man ang local industries. Lakip sa lihok sang customs amo ang pag-improve sang intelligence kag technology strategies.
