𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 – The excitement surrounding the Dinagyang Festival 2025 is palpable as the Grand Opening Salvo takes place this afternoon.
The event marks the beginning of the month-long celebrations leading to the much-anticipated festival.
Eight tribes, all participating in the Dinagyang Ati Tribes competition, will perform today at four designated judging areas in the city. This marks the first public display of the tribes’ performances, giving locals and visitors a sneak peek of what’s to come.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo Iloilo, Mr. Carlos Rito “Judgee” Peña, Chairman of the Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI), clarified that today’s performances are a preview of the final showdowns set for January 26, the official festival day.
The following tribes will take part in the Grand Opening Salvo:
Tribu Paghidaet of La Paz National High School
Tribu Salognon of Jaro National High School
Tribu Parianon from the District of Molo
Tribu Ilonganon of Jalandoni Memorial National High School
Tribu Pag-Asa Kang Manduryaw from the District of Mandurriao
Tribu Hangaway of Graciano Lopez Jaena Elementary School
Tribu Molave from Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao
Tribu Pan-Ay of Fort San Pedro National High School
This marks the beginning of an exciting season of cultural celebration as Iloilo City gears up for one of the most anticipated festivals in the region.
