Face-to-face classes in private and public schools, from Pre-School to Senior High School (SHS), in Iloilo City have been suspended today.

According to the two-day forecast from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office-Operations Center, the heat index in Iloilo City has reached 42 degrees Celsius.

In accordance with the new guidelines and protocols set by the Iloilo City Government, face-to-face classes will be automatically suspended when the heat index reaches 42°C. This is stipulated in Executive Order No. 024 issued by Mayor Jerry Treñas.

The order includes the following provisions:

A) Face-to-face classes shall be automatically suspended. B) School heads are required to implement the Alternative Delivery Mode of Instruction (ADM). C) For the tertiary level, school administrators and university presidents are encouraged to switch to Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM).
