MANILA — Former president and Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has appealed for prayers as her husband, Mike Arroyo, and son, Mikey Arroyo, face serious health challenges.
Mike Arroyo is set to undergo a major heart surgery on April 7 due to an expanding dissecting aortic aneurysm, a condition that previously required an emergency repair in 2007. The procedure will combine a bypass and an aortoplasty to prevent another medical emergency.
Meanwhile, their son, Mikey Arroyo, was diagnosed with stage one thyroid cancer and underwent surgery on March 18. The former president confirmed that the operation was successful.
Adding to the family’s grief, Paowee Tantoco, their nephew-in-law, recently passed away.
Arroyo also shared that she will be traveling to Singapore for her husband’s surgery.
