Iga-detain sa Kamara sa sulod sang 24-oras si anay presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque matapos gin-cite in contempt ini sang quad committee subong nga adlaw, Agusto 22, bangud sa iya pagbinutig sa iya nga rason kun ngaa nag-absent ini sang nagligad nga hearing.
Sang Agusto 13, nagsulat si Roque sa House Committee on Dangerous Drugs nga indi siya makatambong bilang resource person sang joint committee hearing sa Agusto 16 bangud may court hearing siya sa amo man nga adlaw sa Regional Trial Court sa Manila.
Nabuyagyag ugaling paagi sa certification nga nakuha sang Kamara halin sa Office of the Clerk of Court and Ex-Officio Sheriff sa korte sa Manila nga indi matuod nga may schedule sang court hearing si Roque sang Agusto 16.
Ang sertpikasyon halin sa korte ang ginpresentar ni Kabayan party-list Rep. Ron Salo kag nakit-an nga pirmado ni Manila Regional Trial Court Clerk of Court Atty. Jennifer dela Cruz-Buendia.
“Atty. Harry Roque sent a letter dated Aug. 13, 2024 addressed to the honorable chairman Robert Ace Barbers…informing Chair Barbers that he will not be able to participate to the said meeting due to a conflict with a previously scheduled court hearing before the Regional Trial Court on 16 August 2024 — the same date of our quad-committee hearing,” suno kay Salo.
“Mr. Chair, we are also in receipt here of a copy of a certification…stating that Atty. Harry Roque has no hearing on August 16, and did not appear in the Court of Manila. Mr. Chair, I hate to say it but clearly Atty. Harry Roque, our former secretary and my former law professor lied to this committee, and that amounts to disrespect to the members of the committee, which is contemptable,” dugang sini nga rason sang iya motion sa pag-pa-contempt sa ex-presidential spokesperson.#
