𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 – The 21st Chinese New Year celebration in Iloilo City promises a dazzling spectacle, with nearly 5,000 participants joining the grand cultural parade on January 31, 2025.

This year’s festivities, themed “Providence: A Celebration of Grace, Gratitude, and Growth,” underscore the deep-rooted bond between Chinese and Filipino communities, as well as the vibrant cultural and economic ties that have propelled Iloilo City’s growth.

Events will light up multiple venues across the city—from the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand and Downtown Area to SM City Iloilo and Iloilo Business Park—spanning January 27 to 31.

“This celebration highlights our shared heritage and showcases how culture can drive community and economic development,” said Rito Carlos “Judgee” Lopez Peña, Chair of the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI), in an interview with Bombo Radyo Iloilo.

Highlights include cultural presentations at the Freedom Grandstand and Downtown Area, a thanksgiving Mass at Santa Maria Chinese Filipino Parish, a bustling food festival on Aduana Street, and the much-anticipated cultural parade on January 31, capped by a spectacular fireworks display.

Now hailed as the largest Chinese New Year celebration outside Metro Manila, Iloilo’s festival is a testament to unity and the enduring celebration of Chinese traditions in Western Visayas.
