Vendors in Iloilo City are growing increasingly frustrated with the delayed development of public markets, which has negatively affected their businesses.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Ramel Aton, a rice vendor at the Iloilo Terminal Market, shared that their income has significantly decreased since the market renovations began.

According to Aton, customers have difficulty locating their stalls because they are scattered across the market, instead of being grouped by section as before. He also mentioned that some customers have complained about flooding at their stalls whenever it rains.

Aton expressed hope that the repairs would be completed soon, allowing for a more organized and convenient shopping experience for customers, and enabling vendors to operate in a more comfortable, dry environment.

Despite the promise of improvements, many vendors are still waiting for the completion of renovation works that were supposed to boost the market’s conditions and help attract more customers.

The delay in the repairs has caused inconvenience, and the vendors are now calling on authorities to expedite the process to ensure their businesses can thrive once again. The vendors are growing increasingly vocal about their concerns, urging officials to address the issue promptly.
