The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Iloilo is preparing to pass an Appropriations Ordinance that will provide gratuity pay to Job Order and Contract of Service workers employed by the Iloilo Provincial Government.
Board Member Domingo Oso Jr., chairman of the Committee on Appropriations, confirmed in an interview with Bombo Radyo that a special session will be held on December 23 to finalize the ordinance.
Once approved, Oso stated that the gratuity pay will be released before Christmas.
The funding for this will come from the provincial government’s savings.
This year, eligible Job Order and Contract of Service workers will receive gratuity pay of up to P7,000, an increase from the P5,000 they received in 2023.
The amount of gratuity pay workers will receive will depend on their length of service with the provincial government.
Those who have been employed for more than four months will be eligible for the maximum P7,000.
Workers who have served more than three months but less than four months will receive up to P6,000.
Employees who have worked for at least two months but less than three months will be given P5,000, while those with less than two months of service will receive P4,000.
