ILOILO – A street-level drug dealer, who is also suspected to be the leader of a theft group in Oton, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Rizal, Oton, Iloilo.
The suspect, identified as Alyas Pirot, a legal-aged resident of San Miguel, was apprehended after more than a month of surveillance, according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Abner Jordan, Chief of the Oton Municipal Police Station.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Jordan revealed that the suspect sourced illegal drugs from nearby barangays and Iloilo City.
Authorities recovered seven grams of suspected shabu from the suspect, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱47,600.
Pirot is now detained and faces charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Further investigation also uncovered that the suspect had a previous case of illegal gambling in San Miguel and was identified as the leader of a theft group operating in Oton.
