Weather authorities confirm that no tropical cyclone or Low Pressure Area (LPA) is currently being monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, according to the latest data from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

However, several weather systems are currently influencing the country’s weather:

  1. Shear Line
The shear line is affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. This narrow zone, where sudden changes in wind direction occur, often triggers thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in the area.
  2. Northeast Monsoon (Amihan)
The northeast monsoon is bringing cooler winds and light rains to the rest of Luzon, maintaining a cooler climate in the region.
  3. Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ)
The ITCZ is impacting Mindanao, where the convergence of winds from the Northern and Southern Hemispheres often leads to localized thunderstorms and adverse weather conditions such as low-pressure systems.

Authorities urge the public, especially those in areas affected by the shear line and ITCZ, to remain vigilant against potential flooding and landslides caused by heavy rainfall.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated by monitoring official weather reports from PAGASA to ensure safety and preparedness amid ongoing weather changes.
