ILOILO – A solo parent from Pavia, Iloilo, was honored as the Most Outstanding Female Solo Parent in the Ang Ilongga Awards 2024: Search for the Most Outstanding Female Solo Parent, organized by JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang.
Roselia Jardenil, 54, from Barangay Pagsangaan, Pavia, Iloilo, was declared the winner. She currently serves as the President of the Federation of Solo Parents, Luzvimin Inc. since 2022 and was one of the advocates who pushed for amendments to Republic Act 8972, the Solo Parents’ Welfare Act of 2000.
Jardenil was among 13 nominees for the award and was selected as one of the Top 5 finalists, along with Josie Aguilar (New Lucena), Elizabeth Hechanova (Iloilo City), Anna Rapunzel Ganzon (Molo), and Lenore Enriquez (Molo).
The Ang Ilongga Awards is an annual search that recognizes outstanding solo parents who have made significant contributions to their communities. Before the final announcement, the nominees underwent interviews and onsite validation.
Jardenil is actively involved in volunteerism and holds several leadership roles, including Execom President and Board of Trustee of the Federation of Solo Parents, Luzvimin Inc.
Through this recognition, JCI Iloilo Ilang Ilang continues to honor the dedication and sacrifices of solo parents in raising their families and serving society.
