The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is continuing its search and rescue operations for the missing crew members of the MV Hong Hai 16, which sank off the coast of Rizal in Occidental Mindoro.

On April 19 at around 3:56 PM, the PCG recovered one body from the accommodation area of the sunken vessel. Authorities have yet to release the identity of the victim, pending notification of the next of kin.

Meanwhile, efforts are still underway to locate the remaining four individuals who are still unaccounted for. The PCG is pressing forward with the mission despite the challenges posed by strong waves and deep waters in the area.

The PCG remains determined to complete the operation and assured the public that regular updates will be provided as more information becomes available regarding the missing persons.
