The team, composed of 89 personnel from various government agencies and private organizations, will be welcomed at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

Among the contingent are representatives from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Philippine Air Force, Philippine Army, Department of Health, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Emergency Response Team, Energy Development Corporation, and Apex Mining Co., Inc.

Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. relayed the commendation of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the contingent’s efforts and dedication.

OCD Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno, who led the send-off on April 1, is also expected to head the welcome ceremony.

The Philippine humanitarian mission officially concluded on April 12. Philippine Embassy in Myanmar Chargé d’Affaires Angelito Nayan expressed his gratitude to the team for their exemplary service.

To date, the Philippines has delivered 19,458 pounds of humanitarian aid to Myanmar, including hygiene kits and tarpaulins from the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the earthquake has climbed to over 3,600.
