President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has expressed satisfaction with the results of the 2025 midterm elections, despite only six administration-backed candidates securing seats in the Senate.

According to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro, the President is content with the outcome, noting that many of the winning senators are individuals of integrity and principle, and are genuinely committed to public service.

Based on partial unofficial results, those included in the top 12 winning senatorial candidates are Erwin Tulfo, Ping Lacson, Tito Sotto, Pia Cayetano, Camille Villar, and Lito Lapid.

However, Malacañang stressed that it will not tolerate “obstructionist” lawmakers whose intentions are purely self-serving. The administration welcomes the presence of legitimate opposition members but vowed to challenge individuals who disguise personal agendas under the banner of opposition.

Castro clarified that there is a clear distinction between “obstructionists” and legitimate oppositionists. While the latter push for the nation’s best interests, obstructionists are merely disruptive without offering constructive input or support.

The Palace further emphasized its call for all newly elected officials—regardless of political affiliation—to work together for the benefit of the country.

“This is the will of the people, and it must be respected. Any project or program that serves the nation’s welfare deserves support,” Castro said.
