Russia – At least seven people were confirmed dead following the collapse of two separate bridges in Russia, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the possibility of terrorism.

The first incident occurred in the Bryansk region, where a bridge unexpectedly gave way, forcing commuters to resort to train transport due to the disruption. Just hours later, another bridge collapsed in the Zheleznogorsk district of Kursk.

The second collapse had even graver consequences. A locomotive train was derailed as a result of the incident, and the train’s driver tragically died after being burned inside the wreckage.

Authorities are continuing to investigate both incidents and are considering whether these were acts of terrorism.

Ukraine, however, has denied any involvement in the bridge collapses amid ongoing tensions between the two countries.
