𝗗𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗦, 𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 – Authorities are continuing their investigation into the fatal shooting of a watchman at a farm in Sitio Bulod 2, Barangay Pulao, Dumangas, Iloilo.
The victim, identified as Jomarie Torres, 32, a resident of Barangay Cabilauan, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, was found dead on February 10, a day after the incident. According to Police Master Sergeant Jhon Mark Tuazon, the investigating officer from the Dumangas Municipal Police Station, Torres had been staying at the location for about three months.
Tuazon shared in an interview with Bombo Radyo that Torres was drinking with the owner of the farm at a house approximately 300 meters away from the victim’s hut when the incident occurred.
Residents reported hearing a gunshot late at night on February 9, around 11:00 PM, but it wasn’t until the afternoon of February 10 when the body was discovered by a relative of the farm owner.
Initial findings indicate that the victim sustained at least eight gunshot wounds, which are believed to have been inflicted by a 12-gauge shotgun.
As of now, authorities are still searching for the suspect in the crime.
