Nagpasalig ang Department of Economy, Planning, and Development nga indi magresulta sa saka-presyo ang natalana i-implementar nga 60 ka adlaw nga suspensyon sang rice importation.
Sa amo man nga statement, nagpahayag si DEPDev Secretary Arsenio Balisacan nga bastante pa ang suplay sang pungsod.
Base sa mandu ni President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., maga-umpisa ang suspensyon sa pag-import sa September 1, 2025.
Suportado ini ni Balisacan, bangud suno sa iya, nagnubo ang presyo sang bugas sa world market kag ang sobra nga pag-import sini mahimo makaapekto sa local farmers.
Wala man sang problema sa suplay suno sa iya bangud wala sang na-forecast ang weather bureau nga major weather development.
“We look at the total inventory of rice in the market, even if we suspend the importation during the harvest season from September to October, there will be enough supply. It’s not likely to cause increases in inflation,” suno kay Balisacan.
Sa subong suno sa iya, may rice imports pa sa mga mercado kag manug-abot pa ang bag-o nga shipment. Magluwas diri, ginalauman nga mas mayo ang harvest season.
“We have to keep watching and be vigilant because world prices can suddenly swell. We have to make sure our policy is flexible enough to address the changes,” pahayag niya.
