ILOILO CITY – Authorities have confirmed that a regional top-listed drug personality in Western Visayas was using a security agency’s vehicle to transport illegal drugs.
The suspect was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City.
The primary suspect, identified as alias “Ariane,” 48, is a resident of Zone 2, Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City. Also apprehended was his security guard, alias “Toto,” 32, a resident of Barangay Dacuton, Dumarao, Capiz.
According to Police Captain Ryan Christ Inot, head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), four security guards were assigned to protect alias “Ariane,” but only alias “Toto” was arrested during the operation.
Inot revealed that alias “Toto” was aware of his employer’s involvement in illegal drug activities. Both suspects are known to have a history of drug-related offenses, particularly in Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Authorities are now awaiting the results of their drug tests before filing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
