Former U.S. President Donald Trump is demanding a “major investigation” into Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing her of improperly paying celebrities in exchange for campaign support in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump claimed that it is illegal for candidates to pay for endorsements — an accusation he leveled at Harris, saying she funneled money through so-called “entertainment” expenses.

“I am going to call for a major investigation into this matter,” Trump wrote.

The controversy centers on Harris’s high-profile collaborations with celebrities such as Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Bruce Springsteen. According to Trump, these partnerships were not just promotional — they were allegedly paid endorsements.

Oprah Winfrey confirmed receiving $1 million for producing a campaign event, though she clarified that it covered logistical and production costs. Meanwhile, the Harris campaign denied rumors of a $10 million payment to Beyoncé, calling them “completely false.”

Trump also criticized Bruce Springsteen, claiming the rock legend was paid to perform at a Harris rally in Georgia. He called Springsteen “highly overrated” following the singer’s onstage criticism of Trump’s policies during a concert in the UK.

In response, Harris’s campaign defended the legality and transparency of all its expenditures. “All expenses were reported in accordance with election laws,” the team said in a statement. “Only a single $75 cost related to an endorsement has been officially recorded.”

As of now, no official investigation has been launched, and the Federal Election Commission has not issued a statement regarding the allegations.
