𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 – Two individuals have been confirmed dead following a collision between a taxi and a bus from the Calinog Bus Line (CBL) in Barangay Bolong Este, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.

The information was confirmed by the Western Visayas Sanitarium and General Hospital, where the victims were brought. According to an interview with Haydee Dela Cruz, the barangay captain of the area, the taxi was reportedly traveling at high speed when it crashed into the back of the CBL bus, which was attempting to make a U-turn.

On the opposite side of the road, a public jeepney from Janiuay, Iloilo City, was also traveling with passengers onboard, including one individual who was clinging to the back of the jeep. When the taxi hit the CBL bus, the force of the impact caused the bus to push forward, crashing into the Janiuay jeepney. The passenger who was holding onto the back of the jeep was thrown off, resulting in fatal injuries.

The bus driver has been identified as Agusto Latoza, 49, from Barangay Caninguan, Lambunao, while the jeepney driver is Ryan Bandiola, 38, from Barangay Danao, Iloilo City. The taxi driver, Jomar Senerado, had to be extricated from the wreckage of his vehicle after its front end was completely destroyed in the crash.

The Sta. Barbara Municipal Police Station is continuing its investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, other individuals injured in the collision are receiving medical treatment at local hospitals.
