In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Francis Ray Subong stated that neighbors should talk calmly when there is a misunderstanding.
According to Subong, it is important to maintain respect to avoid conflicts between neighbors.
However, if no agreement can be reached, the Barangay Justice System can be used.
The Barangay Justice System is powerful, where agreements such as Barangay settlements or Arbitration Awards have the same effect as court decisions.
This means that the opposing party is obligated to follow what is agreed upon.
The requirements are as follows:
Both individuals involved (not agencies or companies);
Residents of the same city or municipality; and
The reason for the dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the barangay.
In general, all disputes are covered by the jurisdiction of the barangay justice system.
