𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 – The Committee on Public Order and Security of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Iloilo Provincial Board) is not in favor of implementing signal jamming during the Dinagyang Festival 2025.

This follows a request from the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to carry out signal jamming during the event.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, Iloilo 2nd District Board Member June Mondejar, who chairs the committee, stated that a thorough review and careful decision-making process are needed before agreeing to signal jamming or signal shutdown.

Mondejar said he does not want the public to go through the inconvenience caused by signal jamming, as experienced during the Dinagyang Festival 2023. In that year, not only Iloilo City was affected by the signal disruption but also towns in Iloilo Province, including Pavia, Oton, Leganes, Santa Barbara, and even the province of Guimaras.

He pointed out that the 2023 event, which was supposed to involve only signal jamming, led to a full signal shutdown, causing significant issues for those who relied on mobile internet for work.

He added that before making any final decision on the request, it should be ensured that only areas directly related to the Dinagyang Festival activities will experience signal jamming.
