𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗢, 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗗𝗔 – A Delta Air Lines regional jet crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday afternoon, prompting an immediate response from emergency teams.

The airport operator confirmed the incident in a social media post, stating that it was “aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta plane arriving from Minneapolis.” The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) later confirmed that there were no fatalities.

Evacuation and Injuries

According to the FAA, Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, crashed at approximately 2:45 p.m. local time. The aircraft, a CRJ-900, had departed from Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport. All 80 people on board—76 passengers and four crew members—were safely evacuated. Several individuals sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

“Delta Connection flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air using a CRJ900 aircraft, was involved in a single-aircraft accident at Toronto Pearson International Airport,” the airline said in a statement. “Our primary focus is taking care of those impacted.”

Social media images from the scene appeared to show the aircraft overturned on the tarmac.

Toronto Airport Temporarily Closed

Following the crash, authorities implemented a ground stop for all departing flights at Pearson Airport. Delta also confirmed the temporary closure and said it was working to accommodate affected passengers. Travelers have been advised to check with their airlines for any disruptions to their schedules.

Investigation Underway

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has launched an investigation into the accident.

“The TSB is deploying a team of investigators following an accident involving an aircraft operated by Delta Airlines at Toronto Pearson International Airport,” the agency said. “The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence.”

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) also confirmed it would assist in the investigation but stated that all official updates would come from the Canadian agency.

Aviation Safety Concerns

The crash comes just days after a separate aviation incident involving a mid-air collision over the Potomac River between a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines regional jet. That accident, currently under scrutiny for possible communication and altimeter errors, has raised concerns about regional flight safety.

Further updates on the Toronto crash are expected as the investigation progresses.
