ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) conducted a series of successful operations in February 2025, leading to the confiscation of illegal drugs valued at PHP39.97 million.

These operations resulted in the arrest of 334 drug suspects across the Western Visayas region.

According to Police Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, spokesperson of PRO-6, a total of 254 operations were carried out within a month.

Arrests by Province and City Police Units

The following police units made significant contributions in terms of arrests:

  • Aklan Police Provincial Office – 8 arrests
  • Antique Police Provincial Office – 6 arrests
  • Capiz Police Provincial Office – 8 arrests
  • Guimaras Police Provincial Office – 5 arrests
  • Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) – 48 arrests
  • Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – 131 arrests
  • Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) – 63 arrests
  • Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) – 65 arrests

Largest Drug Seizures

The Bacolod City Police Office recorded the highest drug confiscation amounting to PHP11.1 million, followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office with PHP10.8 million, and the Iloilo City Police Office with PHP9.4 million.

Most Arrests Recorded in Negros Occidental

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office reported the highest number of arrests with 131 drug suspects, comprising 39.22% of the total arrests. It was followed by Bacolod City Police Office with 65 arrests and Iloilo City Police Office with 63 arrests.

PRO-6 Director Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky expressed gratitude to all unit commanders and their personnel for their relentless efforts in combating illegal drugs.

The arrested suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
