Poa, central figure sa DepEd confidential funds issue —Ortega

Ginapreparahan na sang House prosecutors nga gamiton ni Atty. Michael Poa ang “lawyer-client privilege” kun pamangkuton na ini parte sa mga transaksyon nga may kaangtanan sa confidential funds ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

Si Poa amo anay ang nagserbisyo bilang undersecretary, chief of staff kag spokesperson sang Department of Education ukon DepEd sang secretary pa si Duterte.

Subong, kabahin na siya sang defense team ni Duterte sa impeachment trial.

Plano sang prosecution nga mangayo sa Senate impeachment court nga ideklara si Poa bilang hostile witness agod makakuha sang sabat sa mga isyu nga wala nasolbar sa 2024 House investigation parte sa ginalegar nga pag-abuso ni Duterte sa confidential funds.

Suno kay Ortega, hostile witness man ukon indi si Poa, isa ini sa mga sentro nga personalidad sa impeachment case, ilabi na sa Article I.

“He’s a central figure here,” suno kay Ortega. “Now that we are before an impeachment court, this is the proper forum for him [Poa] to shed light on this. Ngayon nasa impeachment court tayo and I believe na ito po ’yung proper forum para po mabigyang-linaw ’yung mga tanong.”

“Atty. Poa has accountability here. He cannot wash his hands off the disposal of confidential funds,” suno naman kay House good government and public accountability vice chairperson Benny Abante.

Posible nga mangin una nga witness sang prosecution sini nga semana si Poa kon indi makatambong ang duha ka military officers nga una nga nakaschedule magtestigo.

Kon pagahatagan sang impeachment court sang permiso ang request sang prosecution, mangin ikatatlo si Poa nga hostile witness sa kaso.

Nauna na nga gin-deklarar bilang hostile witnesses ang anay special disbursing officer sang Office of the Vice President nga si Gina Acosta kag Assistant Secretary Lemuel Ortonio.#
